KATHMANDU: The government has reiterated Nepal’s firm stance against terrorism, stating that the country stands in solidarity with all nations in the global fight against terror.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the government also emphasized that Nepal will not allow its territory to be used against any neighboring country.

The statement reads: The Government of Nepal is deeply concerned over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, India, on April 22, 2025. A Nepali citizen tragically lost his life in the attack. In this time of sorrow, Nepal stands in solidarity with India.

“Nepal had promptly and unequivocally condemned the heinous act, consistent with its long-standing position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Standing firm on its principles, Nepal reiterates that it will never allow its soil to be used for activities targeting its neighbors.”

The government also expressed hope that tensions between India and Pakistan would de-escalate, reaffirming Nepal’s commitment to lasting peace and stability in the region.
