      BEEN RELEASED AT THIS POINT, AND DEPUTIES IN OCONEE COUNTY ARRESTED A GEORGIA MAN ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES AFTER FINDING METH AND SOME OTHER ITEMS INSIDE A CAR. NOW, DEPUTIES SAY 37 YEAR OLD DAVID LOW WAS ARRESTED AFTER A DEPUTY DISCOVERED HE WAS UNLOADING AN EXCAVATOR STOLEN FROM A JOB SITE IN GEORGIA. OFFICIALS SAY LOW TRIED TO RUN AFTER HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO HIS CAR TO GET HIS ID. THE DEPUTY WAS ABLE TO TAKE LOW INTO CUSTODY.       Deputies in Oconee County, South Carolina, arrested a Georgia man on a drug trafficking charge after deputies discovered more than a pound of methamphetamine inside a sedan. An Oconee County deputy responded to a business on East Fairplay Boulevard in Fair Play SC, late Thursday morning regarding a stolen Kubota KX040-4 excavator that was taken from a job site in DeKalb County, GA, which is in the Atlanta metro area.More News: Police identify two suspects in stabbing; One arrested, one at largeUpon arrival, the deputy discovered the stolen excavator being unloaded from a tow truck with a man, identified as 37-year-old David Deandre Lowe, sitting on the excavator. The deputy also discovered another man on the scene as well as a woman inside of a Hyundai sedan which was in the business' parking lot.Authorities said Lowe began walking toward the Hyundai after telling the responding deputy that his ID was inside the vehicle. Lowe then attempted to run away from the deputy toward the business, but the deputy was able to take him into custody. Additional law enforcement responded to the scene and deputies noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the Hyundai. After searching the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana was found inside the woman's purse. The second male was also released from the scene as Lowe was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. Lowe of Decatur, Georgia, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:20 p.m. Thursday on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained on Friday. A hold was also placed on Lowe by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.Oconee County deputies charged Lowe with the following:Receiving goods, represented as stolen, valued at $10,000 or moreTrafficking in meth or cocaine base (400 grams or more)Possession of a weapon during a violent crimeManufacturing or possession of Schedule I, II, or III controlled substance - third or subsequent offense
