Wichita Mayor Lily Wu is one of nine women mayors in the United States who are making a trip to Switzerland this week.   The nine mayors will be involved in talks on collaboration, economic development, safety and other topics.   The mayors were invited by the government of Zurich, Switzerland.

Mayor Wu said she’s honored to have been chosen for the trip, and all expenses are being paid by the U.S. Embassy to Switzerland.  The theme for the event is “Shaping Urban Landscapes for a Sustainable Future.”  The mayor said she will also be involved in meetings organized by Select USA, part of the U.S. Commerce Department, and she will be promoting Wichita companies during these discussions.

Other U.S. mayors making the trip are from Columbia, Missouri; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Tampa, Florida; Thornton, Colorado; McMinnville, Oregon; St. Louis Park, Minnesota; Albany, New York; and Fontana, California.
