(MENAFN) On Friday, Morocco's police at the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca rounded up at least two Tunisian women over suspected participation in cannabis smuggling.
Moroccan police stated in a statement that the two suspects, aged 24 and 27, were detained with 11.46 kg of cannabis concealed under their clothing.
The statement affirmed that they were arrested while were getting ready to departure from Casablanca towards Tunis airport.
According to to the United Nation's Office on Drugs and Crime, Morocco is still one of the world's largest producers of the cannabis resin regardless of all attempts to crack down on cannabis farming over the past ten years.
