The Learning Experience Academy of Early Education in Clarkston, hosted a “Holiday Stuff the Bus” event, raising more than $2,000 worth of toys and donations for children and families in need, according to a statement by the academy. The event took place Dec. 1 at the school at 7210 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston.
Parents of the academy and members of the community brought gifts and necessary items for children and mothers of a local domestic violence shelter. Items included clothing, toiletries, gift cards, toys and monetary donations. Local businesses, Essence on Main and The Village Fashion Boutique also made donations. The donations were then stuffed in a bus and transported to the shelter.
Activities at the event, included photos with Santa and Mrs. Clause and reindeer, caroling and holiday craft stations.
