Kentucky baseball has hit a rough patch in their 2024 season. After dominating SEC play and climbing into the top five in the rankings, they have struggled versus some ranked opponents. On Friday, that continued, and they took a blowout loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Wildcats scored first on a Ryan Waldschmidt RBI double. It was downhill from there. Arkansas tied it in the fifth inning, then three more to take the lead in the sixth. In the seventh, the busted it open, scoring six more runs to put them up 10 - 1. Kentucky scored two in the ninth to make it a 10 - 3 final.

Kentucky only recorded five hits in the game, with two of them coming from catcher Devin Burkes, who also drove in a run. Starting pitcher Trey Pooser was solid, but the bullpen struggled, giving up seven runs in 3.2 innings.

Game two of the three game series will take place on Saturday afternoon. It will be at 2:00 PM ET and can be watch on SEC Network+.
