Several businesses in Pennsylvania have announced closings recently.
The list below includes 47 locations in 33 municipalities in 17 counties that have closed or will close soon. Locations include Rite Aid stores, Family Dollar stores, an airline, plants, banks, restaurants, clothing stores, a mall and three movie theaters.

Rite Aid plans to close the store at 120 S. Mill Road

Rite Aid plans to close the store at 118 Eagleview Blvd.
Cumberland County
Carlisle
The women’s apparel boutique closed at 101 N. Hanover St. in February
“After months of thought and consideration, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Boutique on Pomfret,” the owner said on the store’s Facebook page in January.
Shippensburg
The branch at 153 W. Orange St. in Shippensburg will close on April 24.
The company provided the following statement in regards to the closing:
“We’ve been on a journey at Citizens to evolve how our customers bank with us, and we continually review customer patterns to evolve and adjust branch strategy across our network. We will close our branch at 153 West Orange Street in Shippensburg, PA, on April 24, 2024.”
“Customers will continue to be served through our other branches and online and mobile banking platforms. Branches remain a key part of our overall strategy to help customers bank when, where and how they prefer. Citizens looks forward to continuing to serve our customers in Pennsylvania.”

Honey Bee’s Cafe and Bake Shoppe at 620 N. Second St. closed on March 8.
“As heartbreaking as it is for us, we simply have no other options. We are beyond thankful for all the friends we’ve made and your support of our small business,” the company said on Facebook.
Honey Bee’s opened in February 2023.
The restaurant specialized in breakfast and lunch menus, including homemade soups, sandwiches, burgers and waffle fries. It also featured a rotating selection of homemade cupcakes, cookies, and brownies.
Lower Paxton Township
Colonial Park Cinemas 4 at the Colonial Park Mall closed on March 4.
Lower Swatara Township
Frontier Airlines, a low-cost carrier, is leaving Harrisburg International Airport when its route from HIA to Orlando International Airport ends on May 13. Frontier has just one route at HIA currently.
Swatara Township
The indoor space at the Harrisburg Mall has closed. Signs posted on the doors at several entrances at the mall at 3501 Paxton St. read:
“This entrance is permanently closed. Bass Pro Shops, 2nd & Charles, DXL and H&R Block remain open and have their own exterior entrances.”
In addition to those four businesses, Applebee’s remains open as well at its own free-standing building along Paxton Street. The closing of the indoor space at the mall marks the end of an era for the shopping center that opened on Oct. 9, 1969 with the opening of Gimbels and Wanamaker’s. Most of the mall is being demolished to make way for the Swatara Exchange, a mixed-use complex.
The Lane Bryant store has closed at the High Pointe Commons shopping center at 4634 High Pointe Blvd. Lane Bryant sells plus-size clothing for women.

Franklin County
Waynesboro
TE Connectivity is closing its plant at 627 N. Grant St. in Waynesboro. The company provided the following message:
“As a result of TE Connectivity’s ongoing evaluation of our operations, we announced to our employees in April 2023 that we are planning to migrate the production at our Application Tooling manufacturing site in Waynesboro to other TE facilities and external suppliers and close the site. This will take place in phases, with the migration concluding in late 2024. We understand the impact this plan will have on the employees at the site and we will be providing severance pay, benefits continuation and outplacement services to assist them in the transition. These actions in no way reflect on the collective performance of our employees at this site and we very much appreciate their dedication and hard work.”
TE Connectivity’s application tooling business manufactures tools that assist with industrial production wiring connections, crimping terminals, pressing connectors into a board, etc. to allow people to make the connections that distribute power, signal and data through technology.

Lancaster County
East Lampeter Township
Bleacher Bums is closing its store at Tanger Outlets Lancaster.
“As winter begins to draw to a close, we want to thank all of you for your continued business. Recently we had to make the difficult decision to not renew our lease at the Tanger Outlets – Lancaster store. At the end of April, we will close our Lancaster location for the final time. Since selling merchandise is easier than moving it, we will be marking down everything in Lancaster down from 25% - 75%,” the company announced on its Facebook page.
All sales will be final and there will be no returns. Tanger Outlets Lancaster is located at 311 Stanley K Tanger Drive.

Dollar Tree Inc. plans to close these six Family Dollar stores in Philadelphia.
